About Me

Still going strong 60-odd years on.

Joined the Coldstream Guards as a boy in 1950, and served 13 years, before joining the Honourable Artillery Company and serving for a further 31 years.

Still playing in corps of drums - four separate corps at the present time - and building up an Air Training Cadet corps from scratch at the present time.

When I'm not doing al this, I'm walking all over the UK, and trying to grow old disgracefully !

About Me

Joined Waterloo Company at the Guards Depot in 1985 and did drumming as a hobby once a week and caught the bug!

On completion of Drums training I joined the great 2nd Bn Coldstream Guards in Wellington Barracks.

Eventually made Drum Major of the 1st Bn Coldstream Guards in 2004 and handed over to Ben Roberts in 2007. Since then I have been an instructor at the All Arms Drill wing and am now a Welfare SNCO for Number 7 Company on a full time reserve contract and still doing Drum Major duties as well as The Troop on 11th June 2011.

About Me

Joined the Coldstream Guards in 70 as a boy soldier aged 15 years and learned my trade as a side drummer in the Junior Guardsmans Company. I spent most of my service in a rifle Company but did a short time in the 2nd Bn as a drummer during the early 70s. I came out in 93 in Chelsea barracks. Life has not been too kind since entering civvy street .. but that is helped by meeting my mates as much as posible and  the enjoyment of playing music makes life so much better !

Well done to Bob for getting this site put on for us all and i really hope more will come on here and join us on as many parades as posible.
